ANSWERED PRAYERS
KENTONS NEW
TRANSMITTER
On Friday February 16, 2001, TV48s new transmitter was placed in service. The new solid state transmitter replaces a tube type transmitter that was over thirty years old and for which parts are no longer available. All the COACB family rejoices along with the TV-48 crew because the new transmitter produces a much-improved picture, and should provide Kenton with years of reliable service. Kenton is now tubeless. Praise the Lord.
DELAWARE ENGINEERING PROBLEMS
We received a certified letter from the FCC stating that there were problems with the application to change Delaware from channel 56 to channel 42. This change is essential because the FCC is going to eliminate all channels above channel 52 and channel 42 was our last hope for a replacement channel. After several phone calls and a lot of prayers we have been informed that everything is now OK and it is on the grant list. Praise the Lord.
LOVE GIFT FOR MARCH
The March love gift is a very colorful sun catcher 3 ¼ X 4 ¼ inches and features a beautiful and brightly colored lighthouse. It attaches easily to any car windshield or windowpane by using an accompanying suction cup.
This love gift will be sent to all that donate at least $5.00 to the COACB during the month of MARCH.
SPRING TELETHON 2001
Thursday March 8 5-8 PM
Friday March 9 5-8 PM
Saturday March 10 2-9 PM
Sunday March 11 1-7 PM
Auctions will be held Thursday through Saturday night with many local merchants acting as guest auctioneers. They will auction off everything from cakes to tires. Often the more unusual the item, the more fun the crowd has with it. Once a gallon of pickled eggs went for $275. Everyone always has a wonderful time and can pick up some great bargains. One third of the operating expenses for COACB stations are raised during the telethons.
Each station airs its own telethon and the public is invited to be come and be a part. There will be ample seating so COME ON DOWN. Sunday will be reserved for praise and worship. Pledges will also be taken.
RETAS COMPUTER
David Aiken
At the COACB we use a network consisting of many computers; but Retas computer is the one most critical to the COACB operations. Book keeping, accounting, record archiving, and written correspondence all require the use of this machine. Often to perform her assigned duties, Reta must have many programs running at the same time. A slower processor and shortage of system resources results in long waits for the computer to finish tasks. Because of this, the decision was finally made that Retas computer must be replaced.
She now has a 633 MHz processor with 128 MB of memory, a 50X CD-ROM, 100 Mbs Network card, a massive hard drive and blazing fast Internet access. Yes, I guess Ben Kalb and I are both a little envious of her computer because it is over twice as fast as ours, but Reta can now really get the work out. She is also really proud of her computer and has informed everyone they must wash their hands before touching its keyboard.

BUTTERSCOTCH CREAM PIE
Reta Rutherford
Make baked pie shell of desired size.
For 9" pie, mix in saucepan: 1 cup brown sugar (packed); ¼ cup cornstarch; ½ teaspoon salt;
Stir in gradually: 1-cup water; 1 2/3 cups milk; Add: 1/3-cup butter.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Gradually stir at least half of hot mixture into 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten. Then blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil 1 minute more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Blend in 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla.
If pie is to be finished with meringue, pour immediately into baked pie shell. Spread meringue lightly on top, sealing to edge of crust to prevent shrinking. Bake at 400-degree oven until delicately browned. Let cool at room temperature.

SUPPORT A STATION
There are three plaques, one at TV-39, another at TV-56 and a third at TV-48. These list the names of those who have promised to support those stations. That pledge can be paid either as a lump sum, or by monthly payments. If you would like to be a member of the TV-56 club, the TV-48 club or the TV-39 club, contact Reta at 1-800-852-8199, and tell her the correct spelling of your name and which station you wish to support. The engraved plate will be added to the appropriate plaque in about two weeks.
