In 1972.  Rev . David Aiken operated an electronic repair business and did some transmitter repair work for WGLX in Galion, Ohio. The station owner offered to pay him in airtime.  David who had just been ordained as a Freewill Baptist Minister was delighted to have the opportunity for a weekly broadcast and quickly accepted the offer. His wife Carolyn was equally excited and suggested that the broadcast be call the Word Of Truth.

The half hour weekly program originated live from the studio at 8:00 each Sunday morning and continued until 1974 when David had to give it up because he was pastoring a Church too far from the station to be able to keep both the Church and Broadcast.

The first Word of  Truth TV Broadcast aired on July 17, 1976 over the Marion, Ohio CATV system.  The program was produced using a single black and white camera and video recorder.  The recorder was used to record the program then taken to the CATV system to broadcast the program. What the group lacked in equipment, they made up for it in enthusiasm.  Other churches started borrowing the camera and recorder for their own programs and the Central Ohio Association of Christian Broadcasters Inc. was born.
